When I agreed to become the Creative Director @ Vibe Magazine one of my most important tasks was to develop a great network of illustrators. This would enable my team to create memorable, beautiful and priceless illustrations to compliment the incredible photography, harmonious layouts and inspired typography.

Objective
Create wonderful illustrations for Jay-Z’s 40th birthday, Justin Timberlake’s hypothetical remix of George Michael and Tupac’s Art Imitating Life articles. For these assignments I relied on two of my favorite illustrators. The right circumstances presented themselves for me to connect editorial with amazing illustration and the results are exceptional. These caricatures brought the stories to life in a way that pay tribute to the icons they represent.
